The Minstrel Players Announce Annual Holiday Production

Northport’s oldest theatre group, The Minstrel Players Theatre Company of Northport, prepare for their 9th Holiday production at Houghton Hall – Trinity Episcopal Church, 130 Main Street in scenic Northport Village.  They are the first to stage Charles Dickens’ classic in this are, “A Christmas Carol”, and are happy to continue this Northport Village holiday tradition as only The Minstrel Players can do it!  Performances are one weekend only on Friday, December 12th and Saturday, December 13th at 8 P.M. and a 3 P.M. matinee on Sunday, December 14th.

Minstrel Players“A Christmas Carol” is adapted from the Charles Dickens novel by Ray and Tara Palen.  Debbie Palen is directing this production.  The cast features Ray Palen as Scrooge and many Minstrel Players veterans in various roles – Stephanie Leinoff, Jim Connors, Michael J. Freed and Karen Mercorella.  Additionally, the large cast features many newcomers to the Minstrel stage – including, a group of children/teens ranging in age from 5 to 17, who all perform in various roles.  The ‘World Class’ crew is rounded out with Robert Cashman – Technical Director, Laura Morella – Assistant Director, Bernie Caprera – Lighting Director and Esteban Lopez – Stage Manager.  The Minstrel Players are always up for the challenge of bringing this well-known holiday classic to life and the founding members are all “A Christmas Carol” experts who found inspiration for their rendition in the countless classic stage and film productions of this famous novel.  Come on down, one and all, and help The Minstrel ring in the holiday season with this all-time classic!
