Common Core Changes Expressed by Gov. Coumo, Lupinacci Response
Statement on Common Core from Assembly Member – Lupinacci September 3rd 2015
“Today is a monumental day for the future of New York State’s public education system, as Governor Cuomo has finally decided to reconsider his highly controversial education reforms,” said Lupinacci, following the Governor’s announcement. “Since budgetary proceedings, my Assembly minority colleagues and I have taken a hard stance against APPR and the Education Opportunity agenda. I am proud that the Governor has decided to take appropriate action and reform his proposals,” Lupinacci continued.
“Though this action is long overdue, the loud voices of students, parents and teachers have finally been heard by the second floor of the New York State Capitol. It is my hope that the Governor and the newly appointed education commissioner will continue the dialogue with our local school districts to create a fruitful and ongoing conversation about the future of our children’s public education,” Lupinacci concluded.
