Social media last night went off the hook when people started reporting that the police helicopter and many police cars were scrambling around Lenox Road and Pulaski area of Huntington Station. People were reporting that the police helicopter was shining it’s flood light into their backyards. Some posted to lock your doors and stay inside which is a good idea when police activity is that intense.

According to the police, at 7:45 p.m. on October 3, a burglar broke into a house on Corey Place in Huntington Station and told the homeowner he had a gun. However the burglar never showed the weapon. Police scoured the area and did not find the burglar. It was not clear whether he was on foot or had transportation out of the area. According to the police, this is an on going investigation and anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
