Motorcyclist Killed in Commack

Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a Kings Park motorcyclist this morning.

Christopher Colella was operating a blue 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600 southbound on Indian Head Road when his vehicle struck a northbound 1999 Chevrolet Venture that was attempting to make a left turn onto Somers Lane in Commack at approximately 6:50 a.m.

Colella, 26, of Marilyn Drive, was pronounced dead at scene.  The driver of the Chevrolet, Marino Guillen, 57, of Washington Avenue, Brentwood, was transported to Saint Catherine of Sienna Medical Center in Smithtown for minor injuries

Guillen was charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
