Town Pulls Names in Country Pointe Lottery
Eleven income-restricted townhouses will be available in 76-unit development adjacent to Avalon Huntington Station
With about 40 prospective purchasers in attendance, a lottery was held at Huntington Town Hall August 30 to choose the order in which 156 applicants will be contacted to continue the qualification process for eleven affordable townhouse units within the 76-unit Country Pointe at Huntington development.
The lottery was conducted by Town’s Community Development Agency, with representatives from the developer, Beechwood Huntington LLC, in attendance.
The development is adjacent to Avalon Bay Huntington on East Fifth Street in Huntington Station. Country Pointe residents will have access to Avalon Bay’s amenities, including the clubhouse, pool and children’s play area.
Available are six two-bedroom units and five three-bedroom units. The sales price for the two-bedroom units is $212,375 for applicants who qualify at 80 percent of the median income ($59,450 for an individual, $84,950 for a family of four) and $318,625 for the three-bedroom units for applicants who qualify at the 120 percent of median income ($89,200 for an individual, $127,450 for a family of four).
The lottery results can be viewed on the Town’s website, at www.huntingtonny.gov/countrypointe.
The next step is the formal application process. The CDA will contact applicants in their lottery order and will review their formal applications to determine whether they meet the criteria. Applicants are responsible for obtaining their own financing.
