Northport Tour Choir Shares the Stage With Broadway Legend

Members of the Northport High School Tour Choir had the exciting opportunity to perform with broadway legend and hometown star Patti LuPone on Jan. 23 and 24, 2017. The event also served as a fundraiser for the Northport High School Performing Arts department, in which $35,000 was raised.

Students sang in front of the sold out crowds with the two-time Tony Award winner and Grammy Award winner at the John W. Engeman Theater during the second half of the performance of “Don’t Monkey with Broadway.”

The two performances would be a cherished memory for the members of the Northport High School Tour Choir.

“It was an unforgettable experience singing with a Broadway legend,” said senior Jake Greene. “She was fantastic with us. We’re glad we made Northport proud!”

“Performing with Patti LuPone was such an eye opening experience into the world of theatre, and I will never forget it,” added junior Mark Scalia.
