Melville FD Responds to Beer Truck, Car Crash
The Melville Fire Department responded to a crash involving a beer truck and a car on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at about 12:15 a.m., on the South Service Road of the Long Island Expressway and Walt Whitman Road. About 25 firefighters and rescue personnel were dispatched with four ambulances, an engine, heavy rescue truck, and paramedic unit under the direction of Chiefs Chris Nolan and David Kaplan.
The beer truck overturned on its side spilling numerous cases of Bud Light, and the car overturned on its roof. Both drivers were out of the vehicles when firefighters arrived on scene, and were transported to the Nassau University Medical Center by the Melville Rescue Squad.
