Greenlawn Fire Department Responds to Bedroom Fire

The Greenlawn Fire Department responded to extinguish a blazing bedroom fire in a house on Brennan Street, Wednesday night, May 3, 2017 at 10:05 p.m. About 65 firefighters from Greenlawn, assisted by the Dix Hills and Huntington Manor FD’s, quickly had the fire knocked-down and under control, containing the fire to a first floor bedroom. Centerport FD provided standby coverage, and paramedics from the Huntington Cyanide Response Team from Greenlawn, Dix Hills, East Northport FD’s and Commack Ambulance were on the scene.

The residents of the home safely evacuated and there were no injuries reported. Suffolk County Fire Rescue Coordinators were also on the scene providing assistance. Units were under the command of Greenlawn Fire Chief Mike Bellis, supported by Assistant Chiefs Joe Costanza, Angelo Santomauro and Pete Miller. The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
