Councilman Eugene Cook Withdraws His Name From Supervisor Race.
It is with deep regret I announce my withdrawal from the Town of Huntington Supervisor race.
Prior to announcing my candidacy, I had conversations with the various party chairs in regards to the
importance of diversity that is needed on the Huntington Town Board that should reflect the residents in Huntington.
This is of extreme importance not only for the residents of Huntington but also to me personally; being a father of 4 daughters, a son and a grandfather to a beautiful sweet little girl. I have grown to see how our world is evolving and ever changing and sincerely believe the future of public servants must reflect the diverse nature in our town.
So, it is with a heavy heart that I have withdrawn myself from this race. I reach out and thank all of my supporters for their encouragement and support.
Accordingly, all donations from the recent fundraiser in support of my candidacy are being returned to the contributors with my sincere thanks.
For the next 2 years, I will fulfill my obligations and promise to continue to work hard for all town residents and businesses, as I have for the last 6 years as councilman. My heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all.
