Huntington Manor Fire Department Battles House Fire On Alpine Way
The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Alpine Way in South Huntington, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at about 4 p.m. Firefighters arrived and found an active fire on the first floor of the home which was undergoing renovations. Crews began an aggressive attack on fire and were assisted by the Dix Hills and Greenlawn FD’s. The Melville FD provided standby coverage during the alarm. The Huntington Community First Aid Squad treated three firefighters at the scene for minor injuries. About 50 firefighters using seven trucks had the blaze contained within 25 minutes. Units were under the direction of Huntington Manor Chief Mike DePasquale, supported by Assistant Chiefs Jon Hoffmann, Chuck Brady and Jim Glidden. The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire. Suffolk Fire Rescue Coordinators were also on the scene providing assistance.
