Melville Fire Department Assists Airlift Of Man Injured in Fall from Ladder
The Melville Fire Department responded to assist a man injured in a fall from a ladder inside a warehouse on Republic Road, Monday, July 17, at about 1:30 p.m. The 45-year-old victim suffered serious injuries when he fell approximately 20-feet from the ladder onto a cement floor. Melville Rescue Squad personnel stabilized the patient who was airlifted by Suffolk Police Medivac helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. Two ambulances, two engines, paramedic and fire police units were dispatched and under the direction of Chief Jason Bernfeld and Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
