RAIA WELCOMES SUPPORT IN COMBATING LOCAL GANGS FROM WHITE HOUSE
On Friday, July 28, 2017 President Trump will speak at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood and see first-hand the effects MS-13 gang violence has had on the Islip hamlet. In the wake of gang violence that has taken place in the 12th Assembly District over the last year, President Trump plans to show his commitment and support to local law enforcement for its fight against gang activity.
“I appreciate President Trump’s willingness to visit our community and put a spotlight on the horrific and violent crimes being committed by the organized crime syndicates in our area,” said Raia. “In order to root out these vile individuals from our neighborhoods, we must all band together and support our local law enforcement in any way possible. When it comes to the future and well-being of our children, we must fully commit to creating a safe and productive community in which our kids can grow and succeed.”
Raia represents the 12th Assembly District, which encompasses portions of Brentwood, an Islip community that has been rocked by MS-13 gang violence over the last 12 months.
