Councilwoman Tracey A. Edwards sponsored a code amendment at the August 15, 2017 Town Board meeting that changes the insurance requirements so that groups can hold events on Town property. “I was happy to quarterback this change. This is a win-win, there will still be the same protection for the town and this now lowers the cost of insurance for fire departments, charitable organizations, homeowners associations, etc. to have events. We also worked together with all departments to streamline the application process. We have a wonderful Town with beautiful parks and beaches, I am happy to make it easier for the people of Huntington to enjoy all that our Town has to offer.” stated Councilwoman Edwards.
