Elwood Community Invited to Superintendent’s Forum on Potential Bond Referendum
On Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 Elwood Union Free School District’s Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Bossert will host a community forum to update residents on the potential bond referendum that is being considered by the board of education. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. in the Elwood Middle School auditorium.
This meeting is a follow-up to the community forum held last March, during which Dr. Bossert presented a potential scope of work to residents.
“We’ve refined the scope of work based on the feedback we received last spring,” said Dr. Bossert. “In addition, the district’s facilities committee has met several times since then to further evaluate the projects. We look forward to sharing this update with the community on Sept. 18 and gathering further input from our stakeholders.”
It is anticipated that based on feedback from the community forum, the board of education will consider a resolution at its Sept. 28 2017 business meeting to move forward with presenting a bond referendum to the community. The business meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Elwood Middle School library.
“I would like to thank all community members who have participated in the bond process to date,” said Dr. Bossert. “By incorporating valuable feedback, we will be able to present a plan to the community that addresses critical repairs at our schools and provides upgrades to support an evolving 21st century curriculum.”
