Dix Hills Fire Department Battles Townhouse Fire

The Dix Hills Fire Department responded to a townhouse fire at The Gates of Dix Hills on Sabrina Court off Deer Park Road, Tuesday morning, November 7, 2017 at about 8:20 a.m. Firefighters battled a car fire that extended to the garage of the two-story townhouse . Firefighters from Dix Hills were assisted by Melville and Huntington Manor fire department, and had the blaze under control within 20 minutes. Quick action by firefighters contained the fire damage to the garage. Ambulance crews from the Huntington Community First Aid Squad and Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps were also on the scene for EMS support. Greenlawn firefighters handled standby coverage for Dix Hills during the alarm. About 40 firefighters responded with seven trucks, under the direction of Chief Tom Napolitano. The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Suffolk Police Arson Squad are investigating. Suffolk Fire-Rescue Coordinators also provided assistance.
