Huntington Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci participated recently in a “Meet the New Supervisors” panel discussion at a breakfast meeting of the networking group Advancement for Commerce, Industry and Technology (ACIT).
Supervisor Lupinacci was joined on the panel by his counterparts from Hempstead, Laura Gillen; Oyster Bay, Joseph Saladino; and Smithtown, Edward Wehrheim, all of whom were elected last November (Supervisor Saladino actually began serving in January, when he was appointed to the position). The hour-long discussion, moderated by public relations executive Gary Lewi, covered a wide range of topics, including affordable housing, parking, development, municipal budgeting, the permit approval process, governmental consolidation and shared services.
“My colleagues and I share a common list of challenges, and I believe that out of this panel came a resolve to share ideas to address those issues,” Supervisor Lupinacci said. “I thank ACIT for putting us together and look forward to continuing these discussions among ourselves.”
