State Young Republican Committee Names 13 Statewide Rising Stars — Finnegan Is The Only Rising Star Named From Long Island
Huntington, New York — Huntington resident Brian Finnegan was named a Republican “Rising Star” for 2018, by the New York State Young Republican Committee. Finnegan, who notably managed the successful Republican Candidate’s campaign for Huntington Town Supervisor, was named to the list of 13 “Republican Rising Stars” earlier this month.
Finnegan is New York’s National Committeeman for the Young Republican National Federation and a Committeeman for the Huntington Republican Committee. Finnegan was also named 2017 Young Republican “Man of the Year,” by the Suffolk County Young Republicans.

Brian T. Finnegan, of Northport, is the Chief of Staff at Todd Shapiro Associates. The firm specializes in crisis management, event planning, communications relations, and social media management, working on a client-by-client basis with businesses, public figures, municipal governments, and political campaigns.
In 2016, Finnegan was named Chief of Staff to the New York State Assembly at age 22, serving three years at this post. He proceed to manage the Republican and Conservative Party’s underdog-candidate in Suffolk County’s most heated Town Supervisor’s race in 2017, a race which brought a Republican to office for the first time in a quarter-century. Finnegan has made an impact on the Long Island political landscape through his involvement in a number of Town, County, and State, with roles ranging from Intern to Campaign Chair and Spokesman.
Finnegan is a Huntington Republican Committeeman and a member of their Screening Committee, where he has been involved in vetting of potential candidates and assisting in their election to office.
In 2017, Brian was victorious in his pursuit of the position of National Committeeman for the New York State Republicans and was unanimously elected by the statewide committee. In this role, Finnegan went on to serve as a national delegate to the Young Republican National Federation’s 2017 National Conference in Annapolis, Maryland. His involvement in these political endeavors landed him the honor of being named the 2017 “Man of the Year” by the Suffolk County Young Republicans.
In 2016, Finnegan was named to Long Island’s “30-Under-30 Young Professionals,” by the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. Finnegan’s additional professional experience includes internships with Congressional Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) and the National Republican Congressional Committee. He was employed by FOX News Channel in 2013, serving as a College Associate to Chad Pergram, FOX News’ Chief Congressional Correspondent.
