Man Found Unresponsive in Backyard Pool

Edwin Campos, the man who was found unresponsive in a pool at a Fort Salonga home, was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital at approximately 8 p.m. on August 10.     

The investigation is continuing. Homicide Squad detectives are asking anyone with information to call 631-852-6392.


Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which a man was found unresponsive in a pool at a Fort Salonga home on Sunday, August 5, 2018.

Second Precinct officers responded to 5 Marcelle Court after a 911 caller reported a man was found unresponsive in an inground pool at approximately 1:10 p.m.

Northport Rescue performed CPR on the victim, Edwin Campos, 39, of 250 Ferraris St., Copiague. Campos was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
