NINTH ANNUAL PUMPKIN CONTEST – LOCAL SCHOOLS AND DENTAL OFFICES

CREATE A HARVEST OF CREATIVITY

HUNTINGTON, NY – October 24 – This year, a record-breaking 101 pumpkins were decorated by students and teachers from area schools and dental offices in the ninth annual pumpkin decorating contest from Gellerman Orthodontics.

“This is our biggest year ever, and because we had such an extraordinary participation from local schools, we were able to expand the contest to raise funds for Pink Aid. We brought a big group of pumpkins over to Huntington Hospital, where they bring a happy festive spirit throughout the hospital,” said Dr. Inna Gellerman, founder of Gellerman Orthodontics. “We’re raising spirits at Huntington Hospital and funds for Pink Aid. These pumpkins are fantastic, a bumper crop of creativity.”

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A select group of the decorated pumpkins have been sold for $20 each to raise funds for Pink Aid, a Huntington nonprofit that helps underserved local women survive breast cancer treatment with support and dignity, provides screening to women in need and empowers survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others.
