The Huntingtonian Shedding Light on the Town of Huntington

Students from Harborfields High School learned that “it can wait” on Sept. 13 as Suffolk County Legislator William Spencer held a press conference at the school to discuss the dangers of texting and driving in conjunction with AT&T’s “It Can Wait” program.

Four graduates of the Class of 2013 will be attending service academies in the fall, and two have enlisted in the military. Collectively, these students will represent each branch of the military.

Harborfields High School’s Class of 2013 commencement program took place on June 22.

In the spirit of kindness, approximately 70 students of Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School in the Harborfields Central School District took part in a hands-on community service project in which they donated sandwiches to the Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative.

Third-grade students of Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School in the Harborfields Central School District recently had an opportunity to learn about Aboriginal culture during a visit from artist Chris Pitkin.

Students of Oldfield Middle School in the Harborfields Central School District recently spent the day shadowing select members of the staff during the second annual Teacher for a Day event.
