Assemblyman Jim Conte (R,I,C,WF-Huntington Station) today joined members of the Huntington Manor Fire Department, relatives, and friends to honor volunteer firefighter Richard Holtz during a ceremony at the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial on Albany’s Empire State Plaza. Richard, who died tragically in 2009 in the line of duty after responding to a pre-dawn fire in Huntington Station, was officially added to the Fallen Firefighters Memorial at today’s ceremony.
Richard Holst was a volunteer firefighter with Huntington Manor for over three decades, served as the department’s chaplain, and was chief chaplain for the New York State Association of Chaplains.
