The Huntington Manor Fire Department and Huntington Community First Aid Squad recently held an Emergency Response – MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) Drill simulating the collision of an LIRR train and a vehicle with multiple injured patients. The training exercise was held at a railroad siding near the squad’s facility on Railroad Street in Huntington Station.  Assisting agencies included the Commack, Halesite, Huntington and Melville fire departments, as well as MTA Police and LIRR personnel.  The drill was preceded by a three-hour classroom training session on railroad safety and emergency procedures held at Huntington Manor Fire Department by the LIRR and Suffolk County Fire Academy instructors.  About 100 emergency personnel participated in the drill which was under the EMS Command of Huntington Community Second Deputy Chief Michelle Miller, and Fire Command of Huntington Manor First Assistant Chief Fred Steenson, Jr.
