Huntington Manor Fire Department volunteer firefighters were dispatched for reports of a man trapped underneath a tree on Dix Hills Road near Foxhurst Road in South Huntington, Saturday afternoon, October 29. The man was cutting down a large tree in the backyard of a home when his leg became pinned underneath the tree. About 30 firefighters responded with three heavy rescue trucks and an ambulance, under the command of Chief Gary Hatton and Third Assistant Chief Mike DePasquale. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad with a possible fractured leg.
