The Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce (YPCC), a program of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, will host its Ninth Annual Business Leadership Competition at Farmingdale State College on Wednesday, November 30, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This year, close to 200 high school students will demonstrate their business acumen, presentation skills and creativity by participating in the competition. The students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in an array of categories including Fashion Marketing, Hospitality Services, Advertising, Graphic Design, Sales Demonstration, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Travel and Tourism and Job Interview Skills. Last year, 11 local high schools participated and this year more districts have asked to come on board for this exciting day of competition. The students taking part in the competition enjoy breakfast and a luncheon followed by the awards ceremony.

“All of the students taking part in this competition demonstrate an amazing level of hard work and dedication,” said Linda Mitchell, executive director of the YPCC. “This event continues to have a positive impact on our local students, teachers and school districts and has been such a worthwhile experience for all those involved. We believe the strong School-Business Partnership we have through the Chamber of Commerce enables us to provide educational initiatives to the dynamic students who are our future business leaders of tomorrow.”

As a division of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, the YPCC was established to engage high school students to enhance their leadership skills in a professional environment while interacting with business executives, community leaders, educators and other young adults. The YPCC offers guest speakers, networking opportunities, skill and resume building, entrepreneur workshops, internships and more.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this annual program, which can give your business the opportunity to be of the many leading Long Island companies and corporations to support Long Island’s future leaders.
