Movers In The Sky: Comets, Meteors, & Asteroids
Friday, December 2
7:00pm, Huntington Public Library, Main Street
Auditorium (HMA455)
A program for young and old. Award winning astrophysicist and popular lecturer, Dr. Kevin Manning, explains comets, meteors, and asteroids with fascinating photos and illustrations that uncover some of the mysteries. What differentiates these “small bodies” as remnants of the solar system’s formation? Are comets really omens of disaster? What about the impending danger of asteroids or comets colliding with the earth? A powerful telescope will be set up outdoors for viewing the craters on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, and other beautiful objects in the night sky, weather permitting.
Registration required. Open to all.
