Centerport Fire Chief Proposes at Holiday Parade

Crowds cheered as Centerport Fire Chief Andrew Stevenson proposed to his girlfriend, Kim Scudlo, at the recent Huntington Holiday Parade in Huntington Village.  The couple have been dating for a little over a year, when the Chief decided to pop the question at the parade with the help of fellow firefighters.  As the Centerport Fire Department passed the gathered crowd of relatives and friends on Main Street at New York Avenue, Chief Andrew jumped off the Centerport fire engine, walked up to Kim and went down on one knee, asking her to marry the Chief.  Kim said, “Yes!” as Andrew placed the ring on her finger to the cheers of the crowd.  The happy couple then finished the parade riding down Main Street on the front of the fire truck.  Kim is no stranger to the fire service. Her dad, Charlie, is the First Assistant Chief of the Amityville Fire Department.
