An out of control Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed into the Loews Shore 8 Movie Theater in Huntington Village, damaging the building and injuring the female driver. The Huntington Fire Department and Suffolk Police responded to the crash shortly after 7 p.m., Sunday, December 18, at the theater on Wall Street. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and freed by Huntington firefighters who used the “Jaws of Life” extrication tool to pry open a door.  The woman was transported to Huntington Hospital by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad with head injuries.  About 20 firefighters and rescue personnel were on the scene with a heavy rescue truck, pumper, and an ambulance. Units were under the command of Huntington Assistant Fire Chief Ken Cochrane, and Deputy Chiefs Bob Berry and Jesse Cukro. The Town of Huntington Building Department responded to check the building for structural damage. No other injuries were reported
