Another sad reminder of the times we are in. Waldbaums at 711 East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station will close its doors approximately 60 days from today. This has been both a destination and quick stop shopping for Huntingtonians for many years. Besides being convenient for so many, this particular Waldbaums location is known for giving back to the community in many ways. They have held and supported many fund raisers and have encouraged community service. They have maintained a small town feeling for those who shop there. Santa and the Huntington Manor Fire Department have made this a favorite stop during the holiday season.
In the Waldbaums shopping center are other smaller stores such as Rite Aide, Anthony’s Pizza, a liquor store, Top One Chinese restaurant, Danny G’s card store and Ten Tigers Kung Fu Academy.
There are unconfirmed reports that up to 10 additional Waldbaums stores will be closing throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island.
