Message from Michele:

In 2006 my sister was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.  Parkinson’s has no cure and is a degenerative neurological disorder that limits mobility over time.  Current therapies can help “mask” symptoms for a period of time but cannot cure them.  I was motivated in 2008 after having my second child to run the NYC Marathon for the Michael J Fox Foundation as a Team Fox member.   The foundation is dedicated to finding a cure and helping the millions of people who are afflicted with Parkinson’s.  I was so proud to be a part of such an amazing group of runners raising money and awareness for Team Fox so I decided to run again in 2009.  In 2010 my daughter Ally decided she wanted to fundraiser for her Aunt.  We held a bounce house “Pennies For Parkinson’s” fundraiser and all of Ally’s friends came and donated from their piggy banks.  Team Fox members are ordinary people who want to help those they care about by raising money for research and awareness.  I hope to be able to continue to help until a cure for Parkinson’s is discovered.  We are close to finding it!
