Suffolk County Police Second Precinct officers and civilians revived a man who was suffering from cardiac arrest in Huntington Station this morning.
Daniel Vanasse, 58, and his son Nicholas Vanasse, 22, both from Quebec, Canada, were making a delivery for WPW Growers, located on 400 West Pulaski Road, when they noticed a man who was laying on the ground across from the location at 8:41 a.m. The victim, a Suffolk County Parks Department employee, was in cardiac arrest. Nicholas Vanasse initiated CPR and Daniel Vanasse reached out to someone who called 911.
Second Precinct Officer Joshua Parsons arrived and began chest compressions on the victim. Officer James Garside and Officer Angela Ferrara initiated Advanced Life Support while Officer David Weymouth utilized an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). Officer Peter Kieseheuer also assisted during the rescue.
The Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department responded and the victim, who had a pulse and was breathing, was transported to Huntington Hospital.
