Children In Vehicle While Man Drives Drunk.

Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for driving while intoxicated with two young children in the vehicle in Huntington Station today.

 Aaron Tarkin, 25, was driving a 2003 Hyundai Sonata northbound on New York Avenue and Tuthill Street at approximately 1:04 p.m. when he was stopped by Second Precinct Patrol Officer Joshua Parsons for driving erratically. Tarkin was determined to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. Tarkin was taking his friend’s two sons, ages 8 and 5, out for lunch when he was stopped.

 Second Squad detectives charged Tarkin, of 31 Lewis Court, Huntington Station with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child, a felony under Leandra’s Law, as well as Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of  a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Operation of a Motor Vehicle without an Interlock Device, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Needle.

 Tarkin is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on February 22.
