Assemblyman Jim Conte is hosting a movie for special-needs children living with autism and other developmental disabilities at the AMCLoews Shore 8, 37 Wall Street in Huntington Village, on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. The movie, UPDATED 2/21/12 “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” will be presented in a sensory-friendly manner – not too dark or loud – and is being shown at the discounted rate of $6 per person. Families will also be allowed to bring their own gluten-free and casein-free snacks.
“It is my hope that by hosting this film, we can give children with autism and their families an opportunity to enjoy a day at the movies,” said Conte. “Little things like hosting an autism-friendly film can go a long way in helping to enhance the quality of life for children and families dealing with autism and other developmental disabilities. I cordially invite all families interested in attending the film to join us on Saturday, February 25.”
Conte noted that the film is part of his continued efforts to provide support and assistance to children and families living with autism and other developmental disabilities in order to help enrich their lives. Assemblyman Conte also thanks Loews Theater for hosting the film.
