Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

 On Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 4:25 pm there was a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a motorcyclist in Melville. 

Jordan Rutcofsky, was operating a 2011 April motorcycle westbound on Ruland Road at a high rate of speed, when he crashed into Charles Pleckaitis, 73, who was driving a 2010 Toyota eastbound and attempting to make a left onto Maxess Road at 4:25 p.m. 

Rutcofsky, 29, of Deer Park, was transported by Melville Rescue to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Pleckaitis, of 4 Cliftwood Ct., Huntington, was not injured. 

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. 

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating and are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252. All calls will be kept confidential.
