The Heckscher Museum is pleased to announce Senior Days on Long Island, a new collaboration with Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, Huntington Historical Society, and Northport Historical Society, designed to provide seniors (62 and over) with interesting and unique opportunities at reduced or no cost. On the second Wednesday of the month, seniors are invited to visit The Heckscher Museum after 1:30 pm admission free. Following the scheduled program, seniors can enjoy the exhibitions. Groups and individuals are welcome.

Writers Workshop Series

Calling all writers! Whether you are an experienced writer or trying it for the first time, the Writers Workshop Series is a wonderful opportunity to explore the art of writing in the intimate setting of the Museum galleries. This hands-on series of workshops presented by writers from the Long Island Authors Group will improve your non-fiction writing skills, expand your poetic style, add “color” to your writing, encourage self-reflection, and outline the proposal process. The series culminates with the First Friday Poetry and Prose Reading at the Museum on July 6 at 7:00 pm.
