Huntington Town Board to Purchase State Armory Property for $1.00

At a Town Board meeting held on May 8, 2012, the Huntington Town Board passed a resolution by a unanimous 5-0 vote to purchase the State Armory property, located in Huntington Station for One Dollar ($1.00). The property is approximately 3.6 acres in size.

According to details outlined within the resolution, the Environmental Open Space and Park Fund Review Advisory (EOSPA) Committee recommended that the Town Board pursue the property transfer for the sole purpose of creating a recreational/community center.

The Town of Huntington will now apply to the State of New York, Office of General Services, for the transfer of the property.  The Armory property is located on the north side of East Fifth Street immediately adjacent to Manor Field, in Huntington Station.
