As word continues to spread about the Huntington High School boys’ soccer alumni game this Saturday (May 19), more and more former players are contacting Blue Devil head coach John Pagano and indicating they plan on suiting up for the 10 a.m. contest.
As many as 40 alumni players are expected to show-up for the game, which will be played on the Blue Devil Stadium synthetic turf field. Huntington soccer alumni of all ages are welcome to participate.
Some of the all-time Blue Devil greats are scheduled to play in the game. Alums are asked to make a nominal $10 donation to the program, which is reaching out to graduates in the hope of building bridges between current Blue Devil team and squads of yesteryear.
This will mark the fifth year for the alumni game and Pagano hopes it is the biggest and best one ever. Some Huntington alums are returning to their alma mater from out of state to play in the game. Pagano is encouraging those playing in the game to arrive early so they have plenty of time to warm-up and mingle.
To participate, former players should contact Pagano at jpagano@hufsd.edu.
