Six Teens Injured in Fiery Jericho Turnpike Crash
Emergency units from the Huntington Manor Fire Department, Huntington Community First Aid Squad and Suffolk Police responded to a fiery crash that injured six teenagers on West Jericho Turnpike, west of Hartmann Hill Road at about 11:30 p.m., Saturday night, June 2. The collision involved a BMW and a Cadillac, and first responders arrived on the scene to find the BMW fully involved in flames and all occupants already out of the vehicles. Under the command of Third Assistant Chief Mike DePasquale, Huntington Manor firefighters used a foam-water mixture to douse the flames. Firefighters also checked on downed wires from a utility pole that was struck in the crash and LIPA crews were notified. Huntington Community ambulances transported the six teens to Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
