Suffolk County Police responded to an incident in which four good samaritans lifted a car off a man in Huntington.
Jose Rios, 47, pulled over on Madison Street, alongside Heckscher Park, when he heard his muffler making noises at approximately 5:55 p.m. Rios lifted his 1993 Toyota Corolla with a jack and went underneath the car to inspect the problem. The car fell on Rios and he was unable to free himself. Rios yelled for help and four good Samaritans responded, lifted the car off of Rios, and pulled him to safety.
Two of the good Samaritans are Charles Schulz, 30, of 92 Island Drive, Huntington Station, and John Greenlaw, 37, of 18 Delaware St., Huntington.
Rios, of 33 Railroad St., Huntington, was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad with non-life threatening injuries.
