Valley National Bank Comes To Huntington Station
On Wednesday, July 18, 2012, Valley National Bank held a Ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening their Huntington Station branch. Branch Manager Kevin Asher welcomed those who attended which included Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia, Huntington Chamber of Commerce members and bank customers. Huntington Chamber Executive Director Ellen O’Brien, Kevin Asher and Jo-Ann Raia performed the honors of cutting the ribbon. Kevin Asher thanked everyone that came out to support the official opening of Valley National Bank in Huntington Station. He stated that “Valley is here to officially open and support the Community.” The Chamber and Jo-Ann Raia welcomed Valley to our town.
The branch is located at 580 E. Jericho Turnpike, on the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Pidgeon Hill Road in Huntington Station.
In April of 2011, the Boards of Directors of Valley National Bancorp and State Bancorp, Inc. announced that the companies entered into a merger agreement. The transaction finally finished on January 1, 2012.
State Bank had $1.6 billion in assets, $1.1 billion in loans, and $1.3 billion in deposits, and had a 17 branch network that provided an opening into Long Island for Valley.
