Suffolk County Police arrested an East Northport man for Boating While Intoxicated during a routine patrol for BWI enforcement.

Police Officers Neil Stringer and Rich Manger of the Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau were on patrol last night in the vicinity of the Ocean Bay Park Ferry Terminal in Ocean Bay Park when they spotted a 1976 Sea Ray that was being operated without the required navigation lights.

The officers stopped the vessel and upon interviewing the operator, Michael Albinski, they noticed that he appeared to be intoxicated. The officers transported Albinski to shore where he was placed under arrest by Highway Patrol Safe-T Team Officer Kevin Wustenhoff.

Albinski, 27, of 505 Third Ave., East Northport, was charged with Boating While Intoxicated and Operating a Vessel After Sunset Without Navigation Lights Displayed. Albinski was transported to the Fifth Precinct for processing and he will be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
