Elwood Taxpayers Association Meeting on Fate of Oak Tree Dairy Propery

A letter from the President of the Elwood Taxpayers Association has been distributed to the residents of Elwood regarding the status of the Oak Tree Dairy property, located off of Elwood Road, in Elwood.  The letter states that a meeting will be held on September 12, 2012 at 7:30 pm in the Elwood Middle School cafeteria.

According to the letter, Oak Tree Dairy is for sale and a serious buyer is in place.  The Buyer, the Engel Burman Group, would like to build 482 condominium units at the site which consists of 37 acres of land.  The development would be a 55 and over residence. 482 Units on 37 acres of land equates to just over 13 units to the acre.  Presently the majority of the property is open space/fields.

The Engel Burman Group builds various types of senior housing to include “The Bristal” assisted living facilities in East Meadow, Westbury and East Northport, and “The Seasons” at East Meadow, Plainview and Condominium complexes including “Aqua on the Ocean” in Long Beach and “Ocean Grande” in Rockaway Park.
