Police arrested Bentley Sanon, 29 of 55 10th Avenue, Huntington Station on September 25th 2012. He was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Undercover Nassau County agents reportedly purchased the heroin from Sanon on three different occasions from July 2011 through March of this year in the Massapequa area. He is expected to be arraigned on September 26th at First District Court in Hempstead, NY.
Upon reviewing Town of Huntington records, Sanon lives at 55 10th Ave. The residence is owned by Mr. LEVEQUE JEAN-BAPTISTE and APOLLON LUNA. Town records also indicate that today (9/26/12) at 10:10am Public Safety was scheduled to perform an inspection of that property. The owners want to convert an illegal apartment into a legal accessory apartment. Application number A0015290 was filed on 7/25/2012.
The town should give careful consideration to this permit in light of this new information. Public Safety Officers should be aware that they are entering a property where firearms and drugs may be stored. This property would need relief from the Zoning Board of Appeals of at least two requirements as stated in town code.
1-The residence lot size must be a minimum of seven thousand five hundred (7500) square ft. With no less than seventy-five (75) linear ft. in frontage width (from side property line to side property line in front of the dwelling). This property does not meet that requirement. It is approximately 40 feet.
2-The residence would also need to be at least 50 feet from the street. It does not meet that requirement either.
