Lynch Ballet Company ( a non-profit organization) is proud to present its first annual showcase performance of dancers. Performances take place on Saturday, October 13th at 5:00 pm at Huntington High School Auditorium.
50 Students from Lynch School of Ballet, ages 9 to 17, will each perform a solo to be evaluated by ballet professionals.
“The showcase gives the dancers an opportunity to get written evaluation about their ballet technique, and performance quality from ballet professionals. It will give them each positive feedback as well as things in their dancing they can work on and focus on improving over the next year,” said Karen Lynch, Artistic Director of Lynch School of Ballet.
The showcase evaluators will be Matthew Prescott and Alexandra Gonzalez.
Matthew Prescott joined the Joffrey ballet in 2000, has worked with Donald Byrd’s Spectrum, Dance Theater, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet NY, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Amanda Miller, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, The Alabama Ballet, Armitage Gone! Dance, BalletX, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Morphoses the Wheeldon Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Dominic Walsh Theater.
Alexandra Gonzalez joined the San Francisco Ballet Company under the direction of Helgi Tomasson, after which she guested with the Miami City Ballet, Ballet Florida, Americas Ballet, and Michel Uthoff.
