Collection Efforts Benefit Those In Need
North Ridge Primary School in Commack held its annual Coat Drive, collecting hundreds of items that keep people warm. The North Ridge community and faculty generously donated more than 150 mens, womens, and children’s coats, along with hats, scarves, and gloves. All coats were brought to Long Island Cares in Hauppauge as part of the Warm Coats, Warm Hearts Campaign.
As part of the Long Island hurricane relief effort, the Commack School District is also collecting non perishable food, paper towels, garbage bags, toiletries, diapers and wipes and clean coats and blankets. Those items will first be donated to local food pantries, including Long Island Cares and the American Red Cross. Donations can be dropped off at any of our schools until November 30.
