Dix Hills Man Dies In House Fire

A tenant arrived at his home  located at 18 Lauren Avenue in Dix Hills at approximately 4:55 p.m.  He found his landlord, Kenneth Horadnitsky, in the house which was filled with smoke. The tenant pulled Horadnitsky out of the burning home and called police. Horadnitsky, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The Dix Hills Fire Department and the Commack Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.  Suffolk County Police Homicide and Arson Section detectives are investigating although they do not suspect foul play.
