The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to extricate a student from a car following a two-car collision at the entrance to St. Anthony’s High School on Pidgeon Hill Road in South Huntington, Tuesday morning, November 27, at about 8:20 a.m. The student was a passenger in a Toyota Camry driven by her father that was involved in a collision with a Mercedes-Benz sedan.
Huntington Manor firefighters used the hydraulic “Jaws of Life” rescue tools to remove the passenger side front door from the Toyota. Twenty firefighters were on the scene with an engine, heavy rescue truck and mini-pumper, under the command of Second Assistant Chief Frank McQuade. The patient was transported to Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.
