Cindy Mangano has been tapped as Huntington’s new Town Attorney.  The vote approving her appointment happened at the end of today’s Town Board meeting.

Councilwoman Susan Berland offered the resolution to appoint Mangano.  Councilmen Eugene Cook and Mark Mayoka then voted in favor of the Mangano appointment along with Councilwoman Berland.  Supervisor Frank Petrone and Councilman Mark Cuthbertson voted no to the resolution.  Three yes votes were required for the appointment.

At the same time Supervisor Petrone offered other candidates as potential Town Attorney’s including former Judge Robert Lifson and Attorney David Reilly.   Those individuals did not receive the required votes to receive said appointment.

Cindy Mangano’s credentials will be posted as soon as that information is made available. Mangano replaces former Town Attorney John Leo who recently won election to the NYS Supreme Court.
