Two Men Arrested for Armed Robbery in Huntington Station

Suffolk County Police arrested two men last night after they robbed a restaurant employee at gunpoint in Huntington Station.

Two men entered Kennedy Fried Chicken, located at 182 Depot Road, Huntington Station at approximately 10:30 p.m. and approached an employee behind the counter. As one of the subjects displayed a gun and demanded money, the other grabbed the victim and pushed him to the floor. The suspects removed an undetermined amount of cash from the pants pocket of the victim and fled.

Responding police officers Wayne Kelly and Matthew Angelo located both subjects a short time later in front of 45 Caldwell St. in Huntington Station. Police Officer John Mallia from the Canine Unit and his partner, Blue, searched the area and recovered the handgun used in the robbery.

After further investigation, Second Squad detectives charged Nick Marothiere, 22, of 55 10th Ave., Huntington Station, with Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. The other suspect, James Patron III, 21, of 91 Wyman Ave., Huntington Station was charged with Robbery 1st Degree.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip this morning.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
