On Monday, January 14, 2013, Capital One Bank at 250 New York Avenue in Huntington Village was robbed.
According to police, a man entered the bank at approximately 5:30 p.m. The subject is described as a white male with a thin to medium build, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall to 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, gloves, and a cloth mask.
The suspect entered the bank and approached a teller. He demanded cash and displayed what appeared to be a firearm. The teller complied with the demand and the suspect fled the bank on foot. He was last seen heading south on New York Avenue in Huntington.
Suffolk County Police detectives are still investigating the robbery that occurred at a Capital One in Huntington this evening. Anyone with information and or witnessed the suspect is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
