Ten Stores Evacuated At Walt Whitman Mall

According to a police report a gas main was hit at a construction area at the Walt Whitman Mall earlier this afternoon. Approximately ten stores at the mall were evacuated as a precaution. Police responded to the scene at approximately 1:55 p.m. Keyspan was called to the scene to make all necessary repairs, which, are ongoing.
